Barrel Length: 34″, Ported, Vent-Rib

Choke: The barrel has been threaded for chokes, the included chokes are not marked with a manufacturer’s name. Two are extended and ported, Full and Improved Modified. Two are flush-fit, Modified and XX-Full.

Sights / Optics: There is a white colored bead in a base at the front of the rib and a smaller white mid-bead. The top of the rib and its extension are finely checkered for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two piece checkered select walnut with beavertail forend, pistol grip, adjustable monte carlo comb with cheek-pad, and black rubber Kick Eez recoil pad on an adjustable buttplate. The forend appears to have had the mounting system modified, there is damage on the interior at the tensioning piece. The stocks have a few scattered minor nicks, scuffs, scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is well defined. The drop at comb measures approximately 1 1/2″ at the front of the comb, 1 1/2? at the back, and drop at heel is 2″. The LOP measures 15″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad, 12 3/8? to the back of the wood. The pad has some light wear, but is still quite supple. The stocks rate in Very Good-Fine overall condition as refinished.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance is mostly handling wear on the bottom of the receiver, left chamber flat, and the bottom-right of the receiver above the trigger. There are a few light nicks and scratches. The action shows operational wear. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrel locks up to the receiver with barely perceptible play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a black plastic Ljutic case with the additional chokes and an assortment of spare parts. The carry handle has broken off the case.

Our Assessment: Manufacturing only 340 Shotguns a year at its height in the early 1980s, the Ljutic facility made these guns with pride and precision. Known for their futuristic “Space Guns”, Ljutic holds a very special place in American gunmaking history. This Ljutic Mono-Gun T looks like it knows its way around a Trap field, showing wear consistent with being used for its intended purpose. The forend appears to have been repaired, but despite the handling wear, the gun retains a great bore and strong mechanics. This shotgun ought to have quite a few rounds of trap left in it. It will also make an interesting addition to a collection, with only a few thousand guns made since their founding in the 1950s, Ljutic shotguns always make for a great conversation piece. Please see our photos and good luck!
