The barrel is marked “Colt 45 auto” The left of the trigger guard is marked with “VP” in triangle at the front and “A” at the rear, Rear sight is Marked “Novak” on the left. Both grips have the colt with “snake C” emblem. Floor plate of Magazine is Marked “COLT 45 AUTO S” with a “Rampant Colt” and “C”

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are Checkered and have Colt insignia.There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: Two-Tone. Grey Nickeled steel and black.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10. Only shows evidence of factory test fire in this writer’s opinion.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are light handling marks and a few little draglines and marks in the magwell. The grip screws are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of one 6 round magazine, owner’s manual and handouts, and factory box with two foam trays. The blue plastic box displays some light and minimal handling wear.
Our Assessment: This is an exceptionally nice Colt Series 80 Defender Model, single-action pistol that obviously hasn’t seen much use. It is in Excellent condition with about 99% of its finish remaining. It is a relatively small pistol and just about perfect for concealed carry. If you are old school and like the idea of being able to carry a pistol cocked and locked for a single action trigger pull on the first shot instead of the mushy trigger pulls required for some of the small plastic pistols being made today this will work for you. Also, with its all steel frame and slide, it will easily absorb the recoil of the hottest 45 acp rounds. Although the Defender Model is an incredibly versatile gun they did not make many. This “Single action only” pistol is usually found in “Carried-condition” and this always makes the collectors take notice. With the nice finish on this pistol, we think the collectors are going to outbid the shooters. Don’t let this one get away. Please see how perfect she is in these pictures.
