Our Assessment: This is a Norwegian Kongsberg M/1914 semi-automatic pistol in 11.25mm (.45 ACP), serial number 28906, dated 1942. The Kongsberg M/1914 is the Norwegian licensed copy of the Colt 1911, and 1942-dated examples were produced during the German occupation of Norway in WWII. These occupation-era Kongsbergs are highly collectible, and this one comes as a complete rig with magazine, US holster, and web belt.

The pistol shows honest service wear, with about 20% of the original blue remaining and heavy wear on the grips, consistent with a sidearm that was actually carried. The bore is gray with visible rifling but heavy erosion, rating 3 out of 10. The action functions correctly. All markings are legible including the “11.25 m/m AUT. PISTOL M/1914” and “No 28906” on the slide and the 1942 date. The consignor states that this pistol was picked up from a family in Yakima Washington and is a WWII bring back. For the collector of WWII sidearms or 1911 variants, an occupation-era Kongsberg rig is a significant piece. Please see our photos and good luck!-C.M.
