Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is two piece checkered walnut, tipped schnabel forend, capped semi pistol grip with right hand palm swell, raised comb, and rubber Sauer recoil pad. The LOP is 14″ from trigger to recoil pad. There is light box and storage wear. There are a few minor scratches and compression handling dents. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The JP Sauer and Sohn Model 202 Supreme Lux in .270 Winchester is a high-grade European bolt-action sporting rifle with strong appeal as both a refined hunting arm and a quality modern collectible. The Sauer 202 series is known for its modular construction, smooth bolt operation, and upscale fit and finish, and the Supreme Lux configuration adds an elevated presentation with its two-piece checkered walnut stock, schnabel-tipped forend, capped semi-pistol grip, right-hand palm swell, raised comb, and Sauer recoil pad. Chambered in .270 Winchester with a 24″ barrel, this rifle is well-suited for medium and larger game hunting, offering a classic balance of flat trajectory, manageable recoil, and excellent field versatility.
Condition is a major strength of this example. The rifle retains approximately 98% of its original blued finish, with only light handling and storage wear noted. The screw heads remain sharp, the markings are clear, and the overall metal condition rates Excellent. The walnut stock is also in Excellent condition, showing light box and storage wear along with a few minor scratches and compression marks, but no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no erosion, and only very minor fouling, rating 9.75/10 in this writer’s opinion. The installed Leupold QD bases are a practical and desirable addition, especially since the rifle is configured without iron sights.
The included box and detachable 3-round magazine further enhance the package, though the missing disassembly tools should be noted for completeness. Even with that omission, this Model 202 Supreme Lux remains a very attractive and high-condition Sauer rifle with strong hunting utility and premium sporting-rifle appeal. Overall, it presents as an Excellent-condition, original-finish European bolt-action rifle with handsome walnut furniture, quality optics-ready mounting provisions, and broad appeal to Sauer enthusiasts, collectors of fine sporting arms, and hunters seeking a refined .270 Winchester rifle.
