Our Assessment: The Pietta PPS/50 is a .22 LR caliber semi-automatic rifle that closely resembles the iconic Soviet PPSh-41 submachine gun used during World War II and other conflicts. This firearm replicates the classic look and feel of the original PPSh-41, making it a popular choice among history enthusiasts and collectors. The PPS/50 features a distinctive drum magazine, which adds to its historical authenticity and allows for extended shooting sessions without frequent reloading. However, it’s essential to note that despite its appearance, the PPS/50 is a semi-automatic rifle and not a fully automatic submachine gun.
Chambered in the widely available and affordable .22 LR caliber, the Pietta PPS/50 offers a cost-effective and low-recoil option for recreational shooting, plinking, and target practice. Its lightweight and user-friendly design, combined with the iconic aesthetics, make it an enjoyable firearm for those who appreciate historical firearms or want a unique rimfire rifle.
