Sights / Optics: The front sight is a low profile blade staked into the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered wood. There is very light handling wear on the grips. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Fine Condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is grey and the rifling is worn with stubborn fouling present. There is light pitting throughout the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 6.5/10.
Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 80% of its metal finish. The firearm shows moderate operational and handling wear. There is edge wear, light scratches, and rub marks through the finish. There is an “Idiot Scratch” through the finish on the slide and frame. The screw heads are lightly tooled and remain turnable. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm is in Good to Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol precedes the Swartz firing pin safety and is not drop safe. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Interwar Commercial Colt Government Model 1911 was manufactured in 1930 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic pistol. Produced by Colt during the height of commercial 1911 production between the World Wars, this pistol reflects the refined fit and finish typical of Colt’s pre-World War II commercial offerings. These Government Models were marketed to civilian shooters and law enforcement agencies and are distinct from military contract pistols of the same era.
Chambered in .45 Auto with a 5 inch barrel, this pistol maintains the classic Government Model configuration that defined American service and sporting sidearms. The .45 ACP cartridge was firmly established by this time as one of the most respected service calibers. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 6.5 out of 10, showing moderate wear consistent with age and use. The action functions correctly.
This firearm retains approximately 80 percent of its metal finish, presenting a well-preserved appearance with visible but honest handling wear. The grips rate in Fine condition with minimal visible wear. Overall, this firearm is in Good to Very Good condition and stands as a representative example of a 1930 commercial Colt Government Model from the interwar period.
