Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “HK INC. ARL VA 22 201 / HECKLER & KOCH GMBH / OBERNDORF/N MADE IN GERMANY”, “Mod. HK 940”. The left side of the chamber is marked “00331” with an Eagle over N Proof. The left side of the barrel is marked “.30-06” with an Eagle over N, IC Date Code, and Ulm Antler Proof. The left side of the magazine is marked “.30-06 / 9,3X62 / 7X64”.
Barrel Length: Approximately 21”. Has an integral flash hider.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a pinned blade fixed to a checkered ramp atop the integrated flash hider. The rear sight is a flip up U notch sight with windage adjustment. The top of the receiver has two large rectangles milled out for the attachment of H&K Factory compatible Claw Scope mounts.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one piece checkered walnut with a checkered semi-pistol grip, semi-monte carlo comb, serrated brown rubber recoil buttpad. The stock has scattered nicks, dings, scuffs and scratches with a couple compression marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures about 14.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. Overall, the stock is in Good condition.
Type of Finish: Blued. The barrel shank and top of the receiver has some beautiful plum color undertones.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the polygonal rifling moderately worn. There is no visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is some thinning on the leading edges of the receiver and muzzle. There is wear on top of the receiver around the rail provisions. There are scratches on the receiver, primarily on the right side. There is some finish loss on the safety. The finish of the barrel shank has a plum hue. The screw heads are tool marked. The markings are clear. Overall, this vintage rifle is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The safety is mounted on the left between the receiver and trigger guard, the magazine release is mounted at the front of the trigger guard. The bolt release is located on the rear of the charging handle. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
