Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling and storage wear, rubs and draglines. There is minor operational wear. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Very Good Plus to Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly.  The consignor, in 2024, shipped this pistol back to Glock for inspection and servicing. Some older parts were replaced by Glock and it now meets all current Glock standards. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This handgun comes with a nonserial matching two piece box, a cleaning rod with a brush attachment, the older parts that were replaced and two 17-round magazines with intact feed lips and strong follower springs.

Please note, no magazines will be included for purchasers who reside where they cannot be legally transferred.

Our Assessment: Designed by Gaston Glock—a 50-year-old fabricator of polymers and curtain rods—beginning in 1980 to answer the need for a replacement for the Austrian military’s Walther P38, the Glock has gone on to be perhaps, both as a brand and a design, the most widely and easily recognized modern firearm throughout the world—the Superman “S” or Coca-Cola of firearms, if you will. It seems so unlikely considering the competition—H&K, Sig Sauer, Beretta—and the general down-the-nose-view of polymer used in firearms at the time, but by 1982, the Glock 17 was indeed the sidearm of the Austrian military. And today, the world.

This Gen 1 G-17 shows negligible wear and strong mechanics and is in  Very Good Plus to Fine condition. Our research shows that this Glock 17 was imported into the U.S. in 1986, the first year that Glocks were imported. With the steadily rising collectibility of Gen 1 Glocks, this particular specimen might do better as part of your retirement plan. Another note to add about this Glocks collectibility is the Austrian proof marks on the barrel and slide. This proof shows that this Glock passed the Austrian strict quality control. Either way, this handgun is a great value and a distinct opportunity for the discerning collector. Please see our photos and good luck with your bidding!

As Always,

Keep Your Powder Dry and Bid High!
