Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with the Glock logo, “38”, “AUSTRIA”, and “.45 G.A.P.”. The right side of the slide is marked with the Glock logo and “HSE462”. The top of the chamber is marked “.45 G.A.P.” and the side is marked “HSE462” with the Glock Logo and a pentagon proof. The underside of the frame on a metal inlay is the serial number “HSE462”. The right side of the grip is marked “MADE IN AUSTRIA / GLOCK, INC., SMYRNA, GA.” with patent numbers at the bottom.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white dotted post atop the slide. The rear sight is a rectangular notch sight dovetailed to the slide with a white outline of the notch.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one-piece Olive Drab polymer integral to the frame with textured flanks, checkered finger grooves and ambidextrous thumb rests. There are no cracks or chips. Overall, the grip is in Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity and Condition: One Glock 10rd .45 GAP magazines in Excellent condition. The magazine does not fit flush.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is some fouling down the length. There is no erosion in the bore. The bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows faint operational wear on the front of the barrel hood. There are minor spots of finish loss on the left upper edge of the slide. Pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with its Glock serial matching case, total of one magazine, bore brush, cleaning rod, factory test packet, and handouts.
Our Assessment: The Glock 38 occupies the compact end of Glock’s .45 GAP lineup, offering a slightly reduced slide and barrel length while maintaining the same cartridge concept introduced with the Model 37. Developed in the early 2000s, the .45 GAP was intended to replicate the ballistic performance of the .45 ACP in a shorter cartridge that could function within a 9mm-sized frame, giving shooters access to .45-caliber energy without the larger grip dimensions traditionally associated with it. Built on the proven Gen 3 architecture, the Model 38 retains Glock’s Safe Action system and straightforward mechanical layout, while the Olive Drab frame reflects a period of factory color variation that has since become a recognizable and somewhat less common offering.
This 2009-dated example remains in excellent condition, retaining approximately 98% of its original finish with only faint operational wear at the barrel hood and minor finish loss along the upper left edge of the slide. The OD green frame is well-preserved with sharp texturing and no structural concerns, providing a distinctive visual contrast to the black slide. The bore is bright with strong rifling, rating 9 out of 10, and the pistol is accompanied by its serial-matching case, factory test packet, and accessories, adding a layer of completeness to the package. Altogether, this is a clean and well-kept example of Glock’s compact .45 GAP platform, representing a specific moment in the company’s development of alternative service cartridges.
