Markings: Serialized parts do not match. The toggle train is marked with the Mauser banner and the eagle with N. The front of the frame is marked “65 / b”. The left side of the receiver is marked “9408”. The barrel shank is marked “42”. The back strap is marked “I.O. Inc Melbourne FL. / P.08 Germany 9×19”. The left side of the frame is marked “P.08”. This P.08 has been pieced together with a different frame, toggle train, and frame. Some small parts are not matching.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a V-notch integral to the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood panels. There is light handling wear. There are scratches on the smooth borders. A few checkering peaks have chipped off. There are no cracks. The frame has a lanyard bar and a lug at the bottom for a stock attachment. The grips rate in about Very Good overall condition.
The second set of grips are synthetic checkered panels with light handling wear. There are scratches and compression marks throughout. The checkering is worn. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Good overall condition.
Both sets of grip panels are not original.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi bright and the rifling is worn. There is light erosion in the bore. There is light pitting in the bore. There is light fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates 6 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 45% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows handling and storage wear. There are scratches and oxidation. There are spots of corrosion pitting and surface rust forming throughout. Some of the blue finish has turned to a patina or gone in the white. The screw heads range from sharp to tooled with serviceable slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Fair – Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Mauser P.08 Luger is one of the most iconic military pistols ever produced, renowned for its distinctive toggle-lock action, historical significance, and unmistakable profile. Originally adopted by the German military in the early 20th century, the Luger became one of the most recognizable sidearms of both World Wars. This example combines components from different periods of production, including a Mauser Banner toggle assembly and wartime-era Mauser-marked parts, creating an interesting shooter and collector piece that reflects the long service life many Lugers experienced after military use.
This example presents in Fair to Good overall condition and includes an exceptional accessory package. The bore is semi-bright with worn rifling, light erosion, light pitting, and fouling present, resulting in a 6/10 rating. The pistol has been assembled from mismatched components, with the frame, receiver, toggle train, and several smaller parts bearing different serial numbers or production origins. The metal retains approximately 45% of its original finish, with the balance showing oxidation, corrosion pitting, surface rust, and areas where the blue has worn to a gray patina or into the white. Included are two sets of non-original grip panels, nine 8-round magazines, a leather holster, and a hard case, providing a substantial accessory package. While not a collector-grade matching Luger, this pistol offers strong appeal as a representative example of the famous P.08 design and would make an interesting addition to a military firearms collection.
