Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS .454 CASULL / *FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.*”. The bottom of the frame is marked “DF946”. The right side of the frame is marked “Field Grade”. The left side of the frame has two patent numbers.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed serrated ramp soldered to the barrel. The rear sight has been removed. There is a Leupold 2.5-8×32 VXIII scope installed on this revolver. We cannot guarantee optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one piece rubber Pachmayr. There is minor handling wear. There is minor gapping behind the trigger guard. There are no rips or tears. Overall this grip is in Very Good condition.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 95% of its original finish. There are some scratches, handling marks, and holster wear throughout. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this revolver is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The timing and lockup are tight. As with all used firearms a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.

Our Assessment: This Freedom Arms Model 83 Field Grade is a high-quality single-action revolver chambered in the powerful .454 Casull cartridge. This example has a 7 1/2″ stainless barrel, side loading gate, shrouded ejector rod, and one-piece Pachmayr rubber grip. The rear sight has been removed, and the revolver is fitted with a Leupold 2.5-8×32 VX-III scope, making it well configured for scoped hunting use, though the optic cannot be guaranteed.
Condition is Very Good overall, with the revolver retaining about 95% of its original stainless finish.
