Barrel Length: 18.5” with heat shield and carry handle.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded post affixed to the barrel assembly. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight set between protective wings affixed to the top cover. The top cover is also equipped with a 7” picatinny rail for the mounting of optics….Like the included Trijicon SDO, this scope is a 3.5 x 35 BAC scope designed by the Marine Corps specifically for the M249. It features scope caps, an Anti Reflective Device aka kill flash, Larue QD mount, 1 mil click covered turrets with cap retainers, a Horseshoe Dot BDC red illuminated reticle, and a top mounted RMR with a 9 MOA Amber dot for CQB use. Both reticles glow very brightly even indoors, the sight picture is very clear, and the turrets adjust with positive clicks. This optics is in Like New condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set on this rifle includes an integrated bi pod, 5.75” forend, polymer pistol grip with storage, and a polymer stock set up for firing from a bi-pod or sandbags that includes a serrated butt plate, hydraulic recoil buffer system and a fold up wire frame shoulder brace. There are also several points to attach slings. The LOP is 15.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The furniture is in New in sealed bag Condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle includes one 30 round AR15 pattern magazine, and 200 disintegrating links in a polymer belt carrier. In New condition.

Our Assessment: The FNH M249S is a civilian semi-automatic version of the iconic M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon), which has served with U.S. military forces since the 1980s. With a quick change 18.5-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel, the M249S offers durability and accuracy, thanks in part to FN’s rigorous production standards. This model also features a non-reciprocating charging handle, which enhances safety by preventing unexpected movement during firing, contributing to a more controllable shooting experience. One of the highlights of the M249S is its dual-feed capability users can switch between belt-fed or magazine-fed operation, offering versatility and uninterrupted firing in extended shooting sessions. This rifle is equipped with an integrated bipod for stabilized shooting, echoing its military roots by enhancing control during sustained fire.
