Our Assessment: The Browning Hi-Power is a single-action, semi-automatic handgun available in the 9mm and .40 S&W calibers. It was based on a design by American firearms inventor John Browning, and completed by Dieudonné Saive at Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal, Belgium. Browning died in 1926, several years before the design was finalized. FN Herstal initially named the design the “High Power”, which alludes to the 13-round magazine capacity (in 9mm), almost twice that of other designs at the time, such as the Luger or Colt M1911. This example is a beautiful Hi Power pistol from FN Browning manufactured in 1995 and assembled in Portugal, chambered for .40 S&W. The pistol is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time in its included factory case than out. Someone planned to do a lot of shooting with this pistol, as it comes with a .357 Sig replacement barrel and magazines. So many magazines. This is quite the package and ought to be sending lead down range for a lifetime. Please see our photos and good luck!
