Markings: The bottom trigger housing and frame have matching serial numbers “88”. The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN.CONN.U.S.A.PAT.AUG.27.01.FEB.25.02.FEB.3.17.DEC.22.03” and “-WINCHESTER-TRADE MARK- / MOD.1903.22 CAL. AUTOMATIC.”. The left side of the front sight is marked “PAT / NOV.4.1902”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a u notch dovetailed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: This rifle has a 2 piece high grade select Walnut stock with a straight grip and straight comb, capped forend, and steel buttplate. The LOP measures 13 ¼” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttplate. The stocks fit shy to the receiver and metal. The stocks have been refinished. There are no chips or cracks. There are no notable scratches or compressions. Aside from the fit of the stocks to the metal, the stocks rate in Excellent overall condition as refinished and/or not original to the gun.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is minor erosion throughout the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10 for C&R.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 50% of its metal finish. The barrel has a strong blue finish that has thinned at the muzzle on the edges of the sights. The receiver has mostly gone to white except for the top of the receiver where a scope rail has preserved some of the blueing. There is minor corrosion throughout the receiver and much of it has taken a slight patina. There is erosion on the trigger guard and is a few placed on the frame near the bottom metal. There are minor nicks on the top edge of the ejection port. There are minor dents on the left side of the barrel that have not affected the bore. The action functions smoothly. Overall this rifle rates at a Very Good condition as refinished C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
