Also included is a Colt Factory Letter verifying that this revolver was shipped from Colt with Class “A” engraving in its current configuration on April 17, 1984 to Aeromarine in Birmingham, Alabama as the only gun of its type in the shipment. The case has some notable wear and discoloration on the exterior of the lid, the padded lining shows wear from the contents.
Our Assessment: Everyone should have a Colt Single Action Army, and this example from Colt’s Custom Shop would be a nice one to add to any collection. Manufactured around 1983, this revolver is chambered in the desirable .44 Special cartridge with beautiful nickel finish, smooth rosewood grips, and Class “A” factory engraving. Two .44 Special cylinders are included, one is engraved and the other is not, so you could shoot this revolver without putting a turn-line on the engraved cylinder. This is going to be popular with collectors with its high condition, display case, and factory letter, and it’s C&R eligible as well! Please see our photos and good luck!
