Our Assessment:  The Factory 1 NV SKS, also known as a North Vietnamese Type 1, is a Vietnam War–era rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. Produced around 1961, it features a 20.5-inch barrel and a fixed internal box magazine, much like its Soviet SKS predecessor. These rifles were locally manufactured in North Vietnam’s Factory 1 with help from their neighbors in China, and they retain the rugged, straightforward design characteristic of the SKS platform. Noted for their role in the Vietnam War, early North Vietnamese SKS rifles are prized today by collectors for their historical significance, relatively limited production, and clear connection to one of the most pivotal conflicts of the 20th century.  Some sources have stated that these Factory 1 SKS’s were clandestinely made in North Korea during the Vietnam War.  Good luck with your bids!  -Edge-
