Our Assessment:  Sir Joseph Whitworth’s patented exagon rifling was one of the most innovative pieces of engineering design in the field of muzzle loading rifles. The accuracy which was achievable with mechanically fitting hexagon bullets was legendary. Faithfully recreated by Euroarms Italia the loading system on the Whitworth has been developed to use lubricated soft lead cylindro-conoidal bullets. This gun is in great shape. Overall condition can be seen in photos. Please look at those and enjoy the auction.-K.F.
