This single-shot .22 caliber rifle has been assembled to mimic an Enfield No4 MkI (T) Sniper Rifle. A Reproduction No. 32 scope has been installed.
Serial Number: PF76403. The “PF” is a Fazakerley prefix.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade set between two protective ears. The rear flip up sight ladder normally uses a fixed aperture in the down position. The aperture was removed in order to mount the scope.
The left side of the receiver has two threaded holes for accepting the reproduction scope base that is attached to the reproduction scope. The scope is a fixed 3 power with a post & horizontal line reticle. The glass lens view is clear & bright. The adjustment knobs turn. The scope tube shows small handling marks. The small screw heads show use.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are three piece smooth with a straight grip, 2 nose caps, 2 barrel bands, 2 sling loops, and a brass buttplate with hinged door for storage. The wood shows scattered scratches and compression marks. The front of the rear handguard is secure but shows about 1/8 of an inch of up & down play. The LOP measures 13 1/4 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows oxidation and wear. The stocks rate in about Very Good Plus to Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The lands are bright and the grooves are semi bright. There is fouling in the bore which should clean up some. There is No erosion. There are light tool marks at the muzzle.
In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates 9.5 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its metal finish. The metal shows several scrapes and scratches which have removed small areas of the black paint finish as well as areas of aggressive cleaning that have removed paint. The exposed metal shows discoloration from oxidation. The action shows operational wear. The screw heads show heavy use. Some of the markings are light. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action Does function correctly. This firearm has not been tested, these are used items. While we have performed a mechanical function check and noted any discrepancies we cannot guarantee the suitability of this firearm.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a No. 32 scope assembly and 2 scope adjustment tools. The rifle comes with 2 No4 spike bayonets with 2 metal scabbards. The refinished bayonet mounts the rifle properly. The other bayonet does not mount the rifle.
The rifle has a leather sling attached and comes with a magazine hull that acts as a .22 shell catcher. There is no mag spring or follower.
Our Assessment: The Enfield No4 MkI rifle is a bolt-action rifle that was used by the British military during World War II. The No4 MkI was the standard issue rifle for British and Commonwealth forces from 1939 until the mid-1950s when it was replaced by the L1A1 SLR (Self-Loading Rifle). It saw extensive service during World War II and was also used by many other countries after the war. The No4 MkI was known for its accuracy, reliability, and durability, and it remains a popular firearm among collectors and shooters today.
