Markings: The rifle is in its original factory wrapping but at some point a panel has been cut so that the model and serial number could be viewed. The left side of the receiver is marked “No4 MK 2 (F)”, “12/54 PF337100”. There are two tags affixed to the exterior wrapping. One is marked “Serial No. PF. 337100”. The other is marked “Rifle No.4. Mk. 2.”, “C.R. 18 GA.”, “(Normal Butt)”, “FAZ. FEB 1955”, “NEW”.

Overall Condition: The rifle comes in its original long term storage packing paper & cosmoline. The rifle appears to be in Excellent / Unissued condition.

Mechanics: The bolt is in place but we did not cycle the action.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle has a magazine in place. We did not view the magazine. The rifle also comes with a sealed No.9 Mk. I bayonet with sealed No.5 Mk. I scabbard.

Our Assessment: This Enfield No.4 Mk 2 is in its original long term storage paper & cosmoline “mummy wrap”. It was made at the Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley (ROF F) in 1954 and was placed into storage shortly thereafter. It has been kept in this condition by the owner for collector value. Many collectors prefer that these rifles be left in their long term storage paper & cosmoline “mummy wrap” as it adds value to the rifle. From their appearance, we believe the rifle and bayonet to be in unissued condition. This unissued Enfield should be in pristine condition once unwrapped and cleaned, should you choose to do so.
