Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with british proof marks. The top of the breech is marked with more british proof marks as well as “SNIDER PATENT” The side plate is marked “1859 ENFIELD” a crown and more british proof marks. The right side of the buttstock is marked with a cartouche.
Barrel Length: Approximately 37 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade. The rear sight is an adjustable ladder sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a 2 piece wood stock with straight comb, brass buttplate, straight grip, 3 barrel bands, 2 sling mounts and smooth forend. The LOP is 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are scratches, compression marks and chips in the stock. This stock is in Good Overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is gray. The rifling is thinning but defined. There is light erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its metal finish. There is finish loss on the muzzle, hammer and side plate. The side plate is starting to patina. There is operational wear in the breech and chamber. The screwheads are tool marked, the markings are sharp. This rifle rates in Good overall condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
