Its adoption by the Swiss military marked the beginning of the Luger’s storied career, and the Model 1900 became the prototype for many later iterations. Swiss craftsmanship is evident in every detail of this firearm, with its precise machining, attention to detail, and reliable toggle-lock action designed by Georg Luger himself. This early production pistol, made in 1901-1902, represents an important transition from 19th-century firearms technology to the modern semi-automatic pistols of the 20th century.
