Our Assessment: The Luger P08 is one of the most iconic semi-automatic pistols in history, with its unique toggle-lock action and outstanding ergonomics. Manufactured by the Erfurt Arsenal, this example dates back to 1920 and bears the post-WWI Reichswehr markings. The Erfurt-manufactured Lugers were produced in smaller numbers than their DWM counterparts, making them desirable among collectors.

Lugers saw extensive use throughout both World Wars, and their precision craftsmanship has made them one of the most recognized military pistols in the world. This example remains in Very Good condition, retaining much of its original blued finish and the correct straw-colored small parts. The markings remain clear, and it features its original checkered walnut grips, which are in solid condition.

We suspect that the frame is a DWM frame that has had an Erfurt toggle installed, which is typical of Arsenal refinished Lugers as they were limited to how many could be manufactured so force matching and mixing components to keep these pistols going was common practice.

This pistol would make an excellent addition to any Luger or historical firearm collection. Whether you are an investor, collector, or enthusiast, this DWM / Erfurt Luger is a piece of history that would be a fantastic display item or shooting piece.
