Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post set between two protective ears and the rear sight is a sliding aperture sight. The dust cover has an integral picatinny rail.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are 3 piece synthetic furniture set with fixed buttstock, rubber buttpad, pistol grip, vented handguard, and two sling loops. There are no chips or cracks. There is faint handling wear throughout.  Overall, the stocks rate in Very Good to Excellent condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: One 20rd steel metric magazine in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10. 

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is little to no handling or operational wear. There are a few scattered scratches and nicks. There are spots of surface rust forming throughout. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This DS Arms SA58 is a modern American-made FAL-pattern rifle built on the proven FN FAL system, one of the most widely adopted battle rifle designs of the Cold War. DS Arms has become the primary domestic manufacturer of FAL-type rifles, producing both traditional and modernized variants using a combination of surplus and newly manufactured components. The SA58 series reflects a contemporary interpretation of the classic design, incorporating features such as a shortened 16 inch barrel and a railed dust cover for optics mounting while retaining the short-stroke gas piston system and adjustable gas regulator that define the platform. This rifle is chambered in 7.62×51 NATO, the cartridge introduced in the 1950s as a standard service round for NATO forces and widely used in battle rifles and machine guns. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, earning a rating of 9.5 out of 10. The rifle retains approximately 98 percent of its original parkerized finish with minimal handling and operational wear, though there are a few scattered scratches and small areas of surface oxidation visible. The synthetic furniture set remains in Very Good to Excellent condition with only faint handling marks and no structural damage.

This rifle includes one twenty-round metric pattern steel magazine and a spare dust cover. The screw heads remain sharp, the pins unmarred, and the markings are clear and well defined. The overall condition reflects light use with strong finish retention and solid mechanical function.
