Our Assessment: This Kentucky Rifle is a .54 caliber, Percussion-lock muzzle-loaded rifle. The rifle pays homage to a later version of the classic North American hunting rifle, popular with outdoorsmen and hunters throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Although the rifle was normally used for hunting various game, it was also used in battle. Notably, during the Civil War John W. “Jack” Hinson, also known as “Old Jack,” used a Kentucky Rifle to kill 36 Union officers during the conflict. Despite some handling and storage wear, this is an expertly crafted rifle with a Tiger-striped stock and it remains very mechanically sound. This is a fine Kentucky Rifle Crafted by a true American Artisan named Dennis Kelley, that you do not want to miss out on! So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
