Mechanics: The revolver currently does not function correctly in either single action or double action modes. In order to get this handgun to cycle you have to either manually spin the chamber and pull the hammer back at the same time. Or, you have to squeeze the trigger and help the cylinder turn manually at the same time. Sometimes if you pull the trigger three to four times in succession it will cycle. This issue will need to be repaired by a competent gunsmith before the revolver will be safe to shoot.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver includes the barrel wrench tool, and a Midway USA soft pistol case.
Our Assessment: The Dan Wesson 7445 VH8 is a high-caliber, heavy-duty revolver designed for power and precision, chambered in the potent .445 SuperMag cartridge. Known for its versatility and power, the .445 SuperMag is an extended-length version of the .44 Magnum, offering increased velocity and energy, making it suitable for big game hunting and long-range shooting. The 8-inch “VH” (Vent Heavy) barrel features a heavy, vented rib design, which enhances stability and aids in recoil control, particularly useful when firing high-powered rounds. The revolver’s hefty build and balanced weight distribution contribute to its manageable recoil, despite the powerful ammunition.
