Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “CAL. / 6,5X55 SE”. The left side of the receiver is marked “A061212 / MADE IN / CZECH REPUBLIC CZ 550 CZ-USA, KANSAS CITY, KS”, along with the CZ logo. The right side of the barrel and the right side of the receiver are marked with a proof mark and the “04” date code.
Barrel Length: 20 1/2″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade, pinned to a serrated ramp, screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a U-notch sight on a riser, screwed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is mounted with 1″ CZ rings for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece, checkered, mannlicher style full length Turkish walnut stock, with a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb with Bavarian style cheekpiece, vented black rubber CZ buttpad, a checkered forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 14 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with a few light scratches and compressions scattered throughout. The checkering is well defined, and the stock’s finish is intact with attractive wood grain. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is fouling present. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling wear, with only a few minor hairline imperfections scattered throughout the barrel and receiver. There is light operational marks on the bolt and friction surfaces of the action. Otherwise, the blued finish is deep, dark, and intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The single-set trigger has a light, crisp, and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: CZ’s 550 series is well regarded for its Mauser-style controlled-round-feed action, solid Czech manufacture, and traditional European sporting-rifle character. The FS, or Full Stock, variant adds classic Mannlicher-style styling with a full-length Turkish walnut stock, giving this rifle a distinctive and elegant field profile. This 2004 CZ 550 FS is chambered in 6.5×55 Swedish, a historic Scandinavian cartridge known for mild recoil, excellent sectional density, and strong hunting and target-shooting performance. This example features a 20 1/2″ barrel, hooded bead front sight, rear U-notch sight, CZ 1″ scope rings, checkered full-length Turkish walnut stock with Bavarian-style cheekpiece, and a single-set trigger. The metal shows light handling wear with only minor hairline imperfections on the barrel and receiver, along with light operational marks on the bolt and action friction surfaces, while the bluing remains deep, dark, and intact overall. The markings are clear and legible, the screw heads are sharp, and the action, safety, and light, crisp single-set trigger function correctly. This rifle includes the CZ scope rings as described.
