Our Assessment: This CZ 75 Shadow TAC 2 began life as a CZ 75 Shadow before being sent through the CZ Custom Shop for an extensive series of performance upgrades. The slide has been slicked up to improve its operation, while the trigger has been carefully polished and tuned to a 3.25-pound single-action pull and 7.75-pound double-action pull. The extended safety with enlarged shelves gives the shooter a more positive point of contact for manipulation, and the extended magazine release makes rapid magazine changes easier without requiring a significant shift in grip. Aggressively textured grips provide the secure purchase expected from a serious competition pistol, particularly when shooting at speed.
The sighting arrangement is equally purposeful, with a white-outlined tritium front blade that provides a highly visible aiming reference while retaining low-light capability, paired with a blacked-out rear that keeps the shooter’s attention on the front sight. The result is a CZ 75 that has been refined rather than merely accessorized, with the Custom Shop work addressing the trigger, controls, slide operation, grip, and sighting system as an integrated package. For anyone who appreciates the CZ 75 platform, this TAC 2 represents an exceptionally high-end interpretation of the design and is about as refined as a CZ 75 can be.
