Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a Williams adjustable U notch screwed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is dovetailed for CZ type scope rings. 

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one piece checkered walnut, semi pistol grip, European comb, cheekpiece, and rubber recoil pad. The LOP is 14 1/4″ from trigger to recoil pad. There are sling mounts installed. There are light scratches and compression dents throughout. There is a crack at the wrist that should be repaired before firing. Overall this stock is in Fair condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. There is minor fouling. In this writer’s opinion this bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original finish. There are scratches and light corrosion stains throughout. There is handling and operational wear. The screw heads show corrosion and light tool marking. The markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in Fair condition due to the cracked stock. If repaired this rifle would rate in Very Good condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The set trigger works as intended. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The CZ 550 Medium is a robust controlled-round-feed bolt-action hunting rifle built for powerful medium- and large-bore cartridges. This 2001 example is chambered in 9.3x62mm and features a 24″ barrel, internal magazine with hinged floorplate, adjustable iron sights, integral CZ-pattern scope dovetails, and a checkered walnut stock with European comb and cheekpiece.
