Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “LES BAER CUSTOM / HILLSDALE, ILL USA / LB4791”. The bushing is marked “7267718 / N M”. The chamber is marked “KART 45 NM”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade dovetailed into the slide, the top has been shortened. The rear sight is a Novaks lo-mount square notch sight dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation and is dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered carbon fiber panels with smooth portions at the top and bottom. There are a few light handling marks on the smooth portions. There are a few light handling marks and the checkering is mostly sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in Fine Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is some light thinning on the edges of the grip safety. There are some scattered light handling marks. There are a few little scuffs and hairline scratches on the bottom of the trigger guard. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide is snug. The trigger is very crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a soft case, 7-round magazine, and a sales receipt.
Our Assessment: Since 1991, Les Baer Custom has been producing some of the finest 1911s that money can buy. According to the company themselves, this one was originally a 5″ Premier Model. It has since been installed with an aftermarket slide assembly with a Kart National Match barrel, National Match bushing, full-length steel guide rod, and a Novak Lo-Mount rear sight. The currently installed slide has angle slide serrations at the front and rear plus it is very snugly fit to the frame, if not for the lack of Les Baer markings, one might think it’s factory. This pistol has seen little use and will make a fantastic shooter, carry, or even competition firearm. Please see our photos and good luck!
