Our Assessment: Winchester’s Model 70 was a pioneering bolt action sporting rifle that was introduced in 1936 and is still being produced today! As with many other such long-lived platforms, it has not only been available in a plethora of configurations, but has served as the base for an even wider variety of custom builds. This is one such example, made on a 1965 receiver with an after-market heavy profile barrel chambered for .308 Winchester. The action is bedded in a custom walnut stock and is currently set up with a nice set of Redfield International target sights as well as a clip-guide. With a bright bore and strong mechanics, this ought to still be a great shooter for years to come. Please see our pictures and good luck!
