Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a two-piece base for optics.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece H-S Precision composite stock, finished with a green base with black spiderweb accents. The stock features a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, black rubber Decelerator buttpad, a wide forend, and sling studs front and rear. There is a bipod attached to the stock. The forend has a takedown lever on the bottom, that will separate the barrel from the action. The takedown lever functions properly. The LOP measures 13″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows minimal wear, with only a couple of minor dings scattered throughout. The stock’s finish is intact, and the stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Black Epoxy Coating (Could be Cerakote, Duracote, or something similar).

Finish Originality: Original to Custom Build.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some light fouling present. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.75/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with light scratches and dings scattered throughout the barrel, floorplate, and trigger guard. There is light operational wear on the bolt and on the other friction surfaces of the action. Otherwise, the finish is largely intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are tooled, but retain serviceable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good to Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break, with minimal take-up or over-travel. The barrel fits tightly into the receiver when the rifle is in one piece, the barrel threads lock in tightly. The takedown feature is simple and easy, flip down the lever, turn barrel/forend 90 degrees, and separate from the receiver. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the bipod and the scope mounts as mentioned above.

Our Assessment: Remington’s Model 700 has long been one of America’s most widely used bolt-action rifle platforms, valued for its strong action, broad aftermarket support, and popularity among hunters, precision shooters, and custom rifle builders. This custom takedown Model 700 is chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum, a powerful, flat-shooting magnum cartridge well suited for long-range hunting and larger game. Built on a late-1980s to early-1990s Remington 700 action, this rifle features a 22″ aftermarket H-S Precision fluted and ported barrel, black epoxy-style finish, two-piece scope base, H-S Precision composite stock with green base and black spiderweb finish, bipod, and a functional takedown system that allows the barrel and forend assembly to separate from the receiver. The custom H-S Precision components, takedown configuration, matching-number bolt, crisp trigger, and .300 Win. Mag. chambering should appeal to buyers looking for a distinctive custom hunting or precision rifle with practical transport advantages.
