Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25×56 FFP scope, with the Illuminated EBR-7C (MOA) reticle. The glass in the scope is clear. The illumination in the reticle does not function, more than likely due to a dead battery. The scope shows light to moderate wear, with scratches and dings throughout the scope’s finish. Overall, the scope rates in Good condition. We cannot guarantee the functionality of optics. The scope is mounted on a one-piece 20 MOA picatinny rail, and sits in 30mm Wheeler rings. The rear scope ring has an integral folding bubble level.
Stock Configuration & Condition: This rifle is set in an MDT ACC Premier Chassis finished in FDE color, with a vertical pistol grip, black rubber buttpad, and a modular buttstock with adjustable LOP, adjustable comb, and a M-LOK compatible forend that has a full-length ARCA rail. The MDT chassis is set up to accept AICS pattern magazines. The LOP measures 14 1/2″ from the front of the Accu-Trigger to the back of the buttpad in its current configuration. The chassis system shows light to moderate wear, with finish wear on the front quarter of the ARCA rail, along with light scratches and dings throughout the forend and magazine well. The barreled action fits inside the chassis system tightly, with no play. Overall, the chassis system rates in Good to Very Good condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: There is no magazine included with this rifle.
Type of Finish: Stainless (Barrel), Blued (Receiver).
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with a few light scratches scattered throughout the barrel and receiver. The bolt shows some light finish wear, along with the other friction surfaces of the action. Otherwise, the finish is largely intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads range from sharp to tooled, but all retain serviceable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the tang mounted safety. The Accu-Trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a spare Savage bolt, firing pin, and the scope as mentioned above.
Our Assessment: The Savage Model 110 has long been favored as a strong foundation for precision rifle builds, thanks to its floating bolt head design, barrel nut system, and inherent accuracy potential. In 6.5 Creedmoor, introduced by Hornady in 2007 for across-the-course competition, the platform truly shines. The cartridge’s mild recoil, high ballistic coefficient projectiles, and excellent long-range consistency have made it a dominant force in PRS and practical precision shooting disciplines.
This custom example features a 26 inch stainless heavy contour Preferred Barrel Blank from Canada, reportedly with approximately 350 to 400 rounds fired, and the bore rates 10 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The rifle is housed in an MDT ACC Premier chassis in FDE, complete with adjustable length of pull, adjustable comb, vertical grip, and full-length ARCA rail, showing light to moderate cosmetic wear consistent with practical use. The Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25×56 FFP optic with EBR-7C MOA reticle is mounted on a 20 MOA rail in 30mm rings with an integrated bubble level; the glass is clear, though the illuminated reticle does not currently function. Overall metal finish rates approximately 97 percent, with light operational wear on the bolt and friction surfaces. Included are a spare Savage bolt and firing pin assembly. This is a purpose-built precision rifle ready for competition or serious long-range work. Please see our photos for a better understanding of condition and good luck with your bids! – J.D.
