Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “H-S Precision Inc.”. The left side of the barrel is marked “6mm-284”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Remington / MODEL 700”.
Barrel Length: 24″; Heavy Contour, Fluted, Unknown Twist Rate.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a Leupold VX-II 6-18x scope, with a duplex reticle. The glass in the scope is clear. The scope shows no notable wear. Overall, the scope rates in Excellent condition. The scope is mounted to the receiver by a one-piece Redfield base, and sits in 1″ rings.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece composite stock, with a pistol grip, fluted straight comb, black rubber Uncle Mike’s buttpad, a wide forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear with a few light scratches and dings scattered throughout. The rear sling stud on the bottom of the forend is missing. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. The barrel is free-floating all the way to the action. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition.
Type of Finish: Matte Blued
Finish Originality: Original to Build.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some minor fouling present. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with light freckling of surface corrosion present on the barrel and receiver. There are a couple minor scratches and dings on the bottom metal, and light operational wear on the bolt. The jeweling on the bolt is still vivid and bright. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 has long been a favored platform for custom precision and varmint rifles, thanks to its strong cylindrical receiver, dual-lug bolt action, and extensive aftermarket support. This example has been extensively configured around the 6mm-284 wildcat cartridge and features a 24″ heavy, fluted H-S Precision barrel, a free-floating composite stock, hinged floorplate, and a Leupold VX-II 6-18x scope. The 6mm-284 combines the large-capacity .284 Winchester case with .243-caliber bullets, producing a high-velocity cartridge historically favored by varmint hunters and long-range shooters seeking flat trajectories and strong downrange performance.
This rifle is in Very Good condition overall, retaining about 95% of the metal finish present on the custom build. There is light surface-corrosion freckling on the barrel and receiver, minor scratches and dings on the bottom metal, and light operational wear on the bolt, while the bolt jeweling remains vivid and bright. The composite stock remains in Very Good condition with scattered light handling marks and no chips or cracks, though the rear sling stud on the underside of the forend is missing. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and only minor fouling, rating 10/10, while the action and safety function correctly. The included Leupold VX-II 6-18x scope has clear glass and remains in Excellent condition, completing a purpose-built custom rifle well suited for varmint and long-range target use.
