The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. There is an aftermarket TriggerTech trigger installed on this rifle, and the trigger has a light, crisp, and clean break.  We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the scope as mentioned above.

Our Assessment: Remington’s Model 700 has long been one of America’s most widely used bolt-action rifle platforms, prized for its strong action, broad aftermarket support, and popularity as a foundation for custom hunting and precision builds. This custom Model 700 is chambered in .35 Whelen, a classic big-game cartridge based on the .30-06 Springfield case and necked up for .358″ bullets, offering strong medium- to large-game performance with broad appeal to hunters who favor heavier bullets and traditional sporting cartridges. This rifle features a 24″ fluted heavy-contour aftermarket barrel, apparent H-S Precision composite stock with bedding and free-floated barrel, internal magazine with hinged floorplate, aftermarket TriggerTech trigger, and a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15×44 scope with illuminated FireDot reticle and CDS-ZL2 turret mounted in 30mm Leupold rings. The custom heavy-barrel build, premium Leupold optic, crisp TriggerTech trigger, excellent bore, and powerful .35 Whelen chambering should appeal to buyers looking for a refined hunting rifle with serious field capability.

This rifle rates in Very Good overall condition, retaining about 98% of its metal finish with only light operational wear on the bolt and some light dings and scratches on the trigger guard and floorplate. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. The composite stock rates in Very Good to Fine condition, showing light wear and some adhesive residue on the left side, while the tan spiderweb finish is otherwise intact; the action is bedded, the stock fits tightly with no play, and the barrel remains free-floating, though the rear sling stud is missing. The Leupold scope rates in Very Good condition with clear glass, light exterior wear, and a properly functioning illuminated reticle. The bolt jeweling remains vivid and bright, the markings are clear and legible, the screw heads are sharp, and the action, safety, and light, crisp TriggerTech trigger function correctly.
