Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine condition as customized.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a safety mounted on the rear of the bolt. Pulled to the rear, the safety is ON, locking both the bolt and the trigger. If pulled back half-way, it blocks only the trigger. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This rifle comes with the installed scope as described.
Our Assessment: This is a custom pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 which has been set up for target shooting. It has had a 24″ after-market barrel installed which has a strip of matte finish along the top to help reduce glare. There is provision for a wide variety of sights, but the rifle is currently wearing an impressive 20x Unertl scope. This has all been mounted in a custom walnut stock, resulting in a very attractive target rifle. The rifle has a great bore and strong mechanics and ought to be a great shooter for years to come. Please see our photos and good luck!
