Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is fixed U notch dovetailed into the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stock is one piece maple, full length, Jager style, capped forend, straight grip, straight comb with cheekpiece, wood patch box, and smooth brass buttplate. The LOP is 13 1/2″ and 14 1/2″ from triggers to buttplate. There is light handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: This rifle is in operational condition. The flint sparks. The firing channel is clear. The hammer holds full and half cock. The double set trigger functions as intended. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used guns a full cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.

Our Assessment: This custom Jaeger-style rifle draws its inspiration from the short, large-bore hunting rifles developed in the Germanic states during the 17th and 18th centuries. Jaeger rifles were known for their substantial rifled barrels, robust stocks, practical hunting sights, and excellent handling, and they strongly influenced the development of the American longrifle. This modern .50-caliber example combines that traditional architecture with a long 37″ swamped barrel, full-length maple stock, wood patchbox, double-set triggers, and flintlock ignition, giving it the appearance of a finely built early sporting rifle.
This rifle remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 98% of its original bright, antiqued finish with only light handling wear. The one-piece maple stock is likewise Excellent, showing no chips or cracks and only minor evidence of use. The bore is especially strong, remaining bright with sharp rifling and no corrosion or pitting, earning a 9.75/10 rating. Mechanically, the lock produces sparks, the firing channel is clear, and the hammer holds at both half and full cock. With its attractive traditional styling, excellent bore, and sound operation, this custom flintlock should appeal to muzzleloading hunters, historical shooters, and collectors of well-made contemporary longrifles.
