Markings: The chamber is marked “1915”. The right side of the receiver is marked with three crown proofs and one imperial eagle. The take down lever and trigger is marked “59”. The side plate is marked “07”. The rear of the toggle train is marked “30”. The firing pin is marked “07”. Under the safety lever is marked ” GESICHERT”. The toggle retaining pin is marked “21”. The bottom of the magazine is marked “MEXICO”. The front of the frame is marked “4806 / g”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the muzzle. The rear sight is a “V” notch integral to the toggle train. The front sight is not original.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip panels are not original. The grips are two-piece checkered wood. The panels have been replaced. The grips have minor handling wear with a few nicks and scuffs. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Good condition.
Type of Finish: Blued.
Finish Originality: Refinished, The serialized parts are not matching
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates about a 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 94% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows handling and storage wear. There are a few scattered nicks and scratches. There is a build up of oxidization on the receiver. The right side of the receiver has spots of freckling. The action shows operational wear. There is light surface corrosion throughout. The screw heads are tool marked with serviceable slots. The markings range from clear to worn. Overall, this pistol is in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a single magazine with a non-serial matching alloy floorplate.
Our Assessment: The Luger P.08 pistol is one of the most iconic military handguns of the twentieth century, originally developed by Georg Luger and adopted by the German military in the early 1900s. Manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), these pistols were widely issued to German forces during the First World War. Chambered in 9mm Parabellum, the cartridge introduced alongside the Luger pistol, the design became known for its distinctive toggle locked action and excellent balance. Lugers produced during wartime often saw extensive service and many were later rebuilt, refinished, or modified for sporting or commercial use.
This example began life as a 1915 dated DWM P.08 and has since been customized into a long barrel configuration with a 6 inch barrel. The pistol has been refinished and the serialized parts are not matching, indicating it has been rebuilt or reworked at some point after its original service life. The metal retains about 94 percent of its current blue finish with scattered handling marks, light freckling, and areas of oxidation visible on the receiver. The replacement checkered wood grip panels remain in Good condition with only minor handling marks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, rating 9 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion.
