Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle features a full-length hardwood stock with a slender profile and pronounced wrist, characteristic of traditional American long rifles. The stock is well-fitted to the barrel and hardware, showing minor handling marks and patina consistent with age and use. The buttstock is fitted with a crescent brass buttplate. The stock rates in Very Good to Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with visible rifling, though the rifling is sharp. There is no notable erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle is in Very Good to Excellent condition, with brass and silver accents displaying an attractive aged patina. The stock remains well-preserved, and the lock mechanism functions smoothly. The rifle is equipped with a set trigger for precise shooting and features a quick lock time, ensuring a crisp ignition and reliable function. The rifle is adorned with silver and brass accents, including a silver patchbox. The brass components, such as the trigger guard, thimbles, and side plate, exhibit a rich mustard patina, enhancing its historical aesthetic.
Mechanics: The flintlock mechanism operates correctly, with a crisp trigger and smooth set function. The hammer and frizzen interact properly, creating good spark potential. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used black powder firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
