Markings: The left side of the barrels is marked with “The Warning”. The left side of the receiver is marked “Ruger Vaquero / 40 S&W & 38-40 Win”. The receivers are marked “58-08562” and “58-08561”. The cylinder s are marked “562” on the front face and “S” on the rear face, and “561” on the front face and “S” on the rear face.

Sights / Optics: These revolvers are mounted with square notched grooved receivers and blade front sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are walnut with Ruger medallions. The grips rate in about AS-NEW condition on both revolvers.
Type of Finish: Highly Polished Stainless Steel
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bores are bright and the rifling is sharp and deep on both revolvers. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: These revolvers retain about 99% of their metal finish. Both have the slightest of drag marks on the cylinder, and both show signs the grip frame may have been removed and replaced. The screw heads are not disfigured. The markings are clear. Overall, these revolvers rate in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: Both of these revolvers have VERY tight lockup. The actions function correctly. We did not fire these revolvers.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: These revolvers come in their original Ruger black plastic boxes with an extra .40 S&W cylinder, cable lock marked “Ruger”, plastic cylinder ring and paperwork. The boxes are marked “Ruger” and “Special Edition”. Both have end panels correctly identifying the model, catalog number, caliber and serial number of the revolver. The boxes and end panels are in excellent condition. The .40 S&W cylinders are marked with the last 3 digits of the serial number on the front face and “S” on the rear face. They are in their original plastic bubble pouch, and are in nearly AS-NEW condition, with only the faintest of drag marks showing. The cable locks and cylinder rings are AS-NEW. The paperwork consists of an Owner’s Manual, a Davidson’s Warranty Card and a sealed envelope with a fired cartridge case which indicates the serial number of the revolver, date fired and signature of the inspector. The paperwork is all in Excellent Condition.
Our Assessment: If you are into Cowboy Action Shooting and like shooting antique cartridges, these almost new revolvers with consecutive serial numbers are for you! They are in beautiful condition in stainless steel which makes them easy to clean and look good. You can change cylinders and also shoot.40 S&W. The New Model Vaqueros aren’t made in this caliber, so if you want something other than .38’s or .45’s, you better snap these up fast.
