Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is infrequent faint frosting, mostly on the right of the frame behind the cylinder. The cylinder has a thin, light turn line. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.
Our Assessment: The original Trooper was a heavy-barreled version of the Officers Model Match and was based on Colt’s medium I frame. It was offered in .22 Long Rifle and .38 Special chamberings. Manufactured with fine carbon steel, it was available in both blued and nickel-plated finishes. This example was produced in 1980 and is in great shape. It is in a quite desirable configuration with an 8″ barrel, chambered for .22 Magnum, and factory nickel finish. While it will still make for one of the more powerful and accurate rimfire revolvers you’ll encounter, it is also a nice piece for a Colt revolver collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
