Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “COLTS PT FA MFG,HARTFORD,CT, U.S.A”.  The left side of the barrel is marked “Cal. 300 Win Mag”.  The left side of the receiver is marked CR14349 / Colt Sauer Sporting Rifle”.  The right side of the receiver is marked “ Made in W. Germany by J. R. Smith and Sons”.  THe bottom of the bolt handle is marked “14349”.  The inside of the mag is marked “ COLT SAUER 300 Win Mag”. The buttpad is marked “COLT SAUER”.

Barrel Length: about 23”

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. On top of the receiver there is a Swarovski 2,2-9×42 Scope.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one piece checkered wooden,capped simi-pistol grip, fluted monte carlo stock with a cheek piece and a rubber buttpad . The LOP measures about 13.75” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock rates in about very fine overall condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle has an internal mag.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a rub mark through the finish on the right side of the barrel. The muzzle shows finish loss.  The screw heads are Semi-sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about very fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions properly.  We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment:  The Colt Sauer sporting rifle was built for colt by J.P Sauer and Sons in W. Germany between 1974 and 1985 on the model 90 action.  These rifles were built as hunting rifles for civilians.  This rifle chambered in 300 win mag is  great for hunting big game or just going to the range and seeing how far you can reach out.  The Colt Sauer 300 win mag paired with the Swarovski Scope will make firing this rifle fun and accurate.  This is a great piece for any shooter or collector.  Please see our photos and good luck on you bids.-C.M.
