Our Assessment: In 1955, the United States launched the first nuclear-powered submarine, West Germany joined NATO, 83 people were killed and at least 100 are injured after two race cars collided in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and Colt began shipping the finest precision combat and target revolver ever made. Each revolver was hand-tuned at the factory and this attention to detail is exemplified both cosmetically and in operation. With barrel lengths ranging from 2.5? to 8? (this amazing example is 8”) and with maybe the finest machining and finishing ever seen in the industry, the Python has duly earned its reputation and continues to be highly sought after to this very day. The Colt Python revolvers are no longer being made like the originals, so the value of these weapons will continue to appreciate. This blued revolver from 1980 has been lovingly cared for over the past 44 years and would be a very welcome addition to just about any collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
