Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PYTHON .357 / .357 MAGNUM CTG.” The left side of the frame is marked with the Colt Rampant Horse logo. The crane cut is marked “E30140.” The right side of the barrel is marked “COLTS PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CONN. U.S.A.” The inside of the grips are not marked.
Barrel Length: 6” With Vent Rib
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp pinned to the ventilated rib. The rear sight is an adjustable square notch.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The revolver is fitted with two-piece checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. There is minimal wear present, only showing light scratches and some light compression marks. The checkering is well defined. The grips rate in Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore but there is stubborn fouling throughout. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its original metal finish. There is some light finish loss on the hammer. There is some powder burn on the top strap but no cutting. There is some finish loss on the ejector rod handle. The cylinder shows a faint turn line. Besides the very minimal wear the finish is beautiful and strong. The screwheads are sharp, the pins are unmarred, and the markings are clear. This revolver rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up tightly, and the timing is excellent. The trigger pull is smooth in double action and crisp in single action. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
