Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The finish is quite strong throughout. There is minor oxidation on the straps. The cylinder has very faint turn-wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is crisp. The cylinder locks with very little play on each of their 6 chambers. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This revolver comes in a faux-wood cardboard Colt box with serial-matching label and two-piece styrofoam tray. The box has moderate wear with fraying and tears at edges and corners. On the label-end, the label ear is torn horizontally but all the ears are present. On the opposite side, the flap has been torn away from the sleeve but is still included with the box.
Our Assessment: On offer here is the adjustable sighted cousin of Colt’s legendary Single Action Army, the New Frontier Single Action Army. While the original SAA revolvers have rugged, fixed sights, the New Frontier has a ramped front sight and adjustable rear sight, giving it a rather contemporary appearance. This one retains 99% of its original metal finish and has a very nice case colored frame. It comes with its original box and manual. This model has a 7 1/2″ barrel giving it a stupendous sight radius for target shooting, making for a very accurate revolver that the shooters will appreciate. As a collector item, you can’t beat the look and feel of a Colt. Do not hesitate to place a generous bid on this handsome revolver—you will not regret it. Good luck and happy budding! – L.S.
