Our Assessment: The Colt New Frontier Single Action Revolver, introduced in 1961, was designed as an upgraded version of the classic Colt Single Action Army revolver, featuring a more modern adjustable rear sight for increased accuracy. It was produced primarily in .45 Colt, .357 Magnum, and .44 Special calibers, offering a blend of traditional Old West style and improved functionality. The revolver was manufactured with a choice of finishes, including blued steel and nickel-plated options, and featured a Colt factory “ivory” grip. Production of the New Frontier model ceased in 1975, but it remains a popular firearm among collectors and enthusiasts for its blend of history and innovation.

New Frontier Colts have become as desired, often more so, than the Colt Single Actions of the same generation. This one is even in everyone’s favorite caliber and barrel length; surely a soon to be favorite for you, too.
