Our Assessment: This is a Colt New Agent Double Action, similar to an Officer’s-model 1911-style pistol but with trench-style low profile, quick-acquisition sights and a double-action-only trigger. It appears the Double Action variant was produced in smaller numbers than the standard New Agent or New Agent Lightweight, though we were not able to find a good source for exactly how many were made. This example is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time in its included factory case than out. This gives the powerful .45 cartridge and slim frame of the full-size 1911 in a small package that will make for a great concealed carry or home defense pistol. Given the limited production and high condition, it would also be a great piece to add to a Colt automatics collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
