Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade integral to the top of the slide and the rear sight is a square notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth wood panels. The grips are secured with Colt branded screws. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition as not original to the gun.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The action shows minor operational wear. There are a few scattered minor marks, most notable in the fronstrap. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is crisp and the slide to frame fit has little play. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This gun comes in a maroon cardboard Colt box with serial-matching label, factory paperwork including manual and a total of three 7-round magazines.
Our Assessment: This is one of those great guns that make you wonder why they are no longer in production. Few automatics offered what this one does: Convenient Size, Potent Chambering, Comfortable Ergonomics, Single Action Reliability, a Slide Lock and Colt Reliability. The original Colt Mustang had a fairly small capacity due to its size, but the Mustang Plus II increased the magazine capacity from five to seven rounds of .380 ACP. Later versions of the Mustang magazine would accommodate six rounds, but the Government .380 and the Plus II are the only ones which give a full 7+1 capacity in this very small and concealable package. This is a great little pocket gun and would also make a nice addition to a collection of Colt automatics. Please see our photos and good luck!
