Sights/Optics: The front sight is a short metal blade fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed to the slide. The top of the slide has a matte finish for glare reduction.
Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with gold inlaid vine scroll work, rode and “Lady Colt”. The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number. The right side of the slide is marked with gold inlaid “LC” / “Government Model 380 Automatic Series ’80”, and vine scroll work. The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT.FA, MFG. CO.” / “HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two piece smooth walnut with Rampant Colt gold medallions. There are little to no handling marks. There are no cracks or chips. Overall the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is very minor fouling in the bore. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates a 9/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its finish.There is minor handling wear and scuffs. The barrel, hood, and action shows minor operational wear. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: Serial matching Colt “woodgrain” box (label has become unattached from box, placed in box), 1x 7-round magazines, paperwork, and a plum-colored “LC” marked soft pouch.
Our Assessment: The Colt Lady Colt series was introduced during the 1980s as part of Colt’s effort to market elegant, compact defensive pistols with refined cosmetic appointments while retaining the proven mechanics of the Government Model platform. Built on the compact Government Model .380 design, these pistols borrowed heavily from the styling and controls of the classic 1911 while utilizing a scaled-down blowback-operated system chambered in .380 Auto. The .380 ACP cartridge, introduced by John Moses Browning in 1908, had long established itself as a practical balance of manageable recoil and compact carry potential, making it particularly well suited for lightweight personal defense pistols. The Lady Colt line stood apart for its decorative embellishments, polished presentation, and upscale factory accessories, reflecting the styling trends of Colt’s commercial offerings during the 1980s.
This 1984-produced example remains in excellent condition and presents exceptionally well with extensive original finish retention and tasteful factory gold inlaid vine scroll embellishments across the slide. The smooth walnut grips with gold Rampant Colt medallions complement the pistol’s polished appearance, while the compact 3 1/4 inch configuration gives the pistol the sleek proportions that made the Government Model .380 series so desirable. With only 1,000 produced, this pistol is accompanied by its matching Colt “woodgrain” box, paperwork, original magazine, and the distinctive plum-colored “LC” marked soft pouch, all of which significantly enhance its collector appeal.
