Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT .22 L.R.”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The right of the barrel is marked “1869-GOLDEN SPIKE-1969”. The barrel markings are gold-filled. The left of the frame is marked with a rampant colt in circle. The bottom of the frame, forward of the grip frame, is marked “9566GS”. The left of the trigger guard is marked “2”. The butt of the grip frame has scroll engraving.
Barrel Length: 6″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter-round blade fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch in the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth wood panels with gold colored Colt medallions. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are only a few scattered minor marks, most notable on the bottom of the barrel. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this hadgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a faux-wood molded-plastic Colt display case with a Promontory Point, Utah Transcontinental Railroad scene molded into the outside of the lid, additional Transcontinental Railroad scene and text on the interior of the lid and fitted green velvet-lined tray with a gold-colored railroad spike marked “1869-GOLDEN SPKIKE-1969”. The case has minor storage wear, in about Fine condition. The spike has no notable wear or damage.
Our Assessment: Made by Colt in 1969 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the joining of the two sides of the Transcontinental Railroad, this is a limited edition Colt Frontier Scout revolver. The gun is in about Excellent condition with only some light handling marks in its beautiful blue, black and gold finish. The revolver comes with a Colt presentation case with scenes from the joining of the two rail lines and the interior lined with green velvet. The Transcontinental Railroad ran from Sacramento to Omaha, finally connecting the West to the Mid-West and allowing both people and cargo to travel between the two without the need for a difficult, and often perilous, journey by wagon.
