Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT S.A.A. 45 CAL”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”. The bottom of the frame is marked with the serial number. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT 19, 1871” / “JULY 2, 72 JAN. 19, 75”. The front of both cylinders are marked with the last three numbers of the serial number, as well as the loading gate arm. The inside of the grip panels are scribed with the last three of the serial number. The serial number is also marked inside the front and back strap.
Barrel Length: 4.75″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade at the muzzle. The rear sight is a ‘U’ notch the length of the top strap. Visible when the hammer is cocked.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two-piece, black checkered, hard plastic. There is a Rampant Colt in a circle at the top of the grip, and an eagle with shield at the base. There is little to no wear on the panels. There are no chips or cracks in the grips. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is fouling in the bore. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.25/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its finish, with minor handling wear and along the metal surfaces. The .45 ACP cylinder is starting to form a turn line. The .45 Colt cylinder has a faint turn line. The screw heads, ejector rod, ejector rod screw, cylinder bushing, cylinder pin, and the trigger are all fire blued. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this revolver is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup is tight on all chambers. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

This example keeps the classic 4.75″ barrel, fixed blade front sight, topstrap rear notch, side-loading gate, and traditional black checkered eagle-and-shield style grips, while elevating the presentation with a bright nickel finish and Colt Custom Fire Blue Package. The fire-blued screws, ejector rod, ejector rod screw, cylinder bushing, cylinder pin, and trigger provide handsome contrast against the nickel surfaces, giving this revolver a refined, high-polish custom appearance.
This revolver remains in Excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its finish with only minor handling wear on the metal surfaces.
